Within a few kilometers between the mountains Boureto and Litzouria from the west and Nemertsika from the east, in short distances between them are traditional historical settlements of Mikro Pogonios and Zagoria, continuation of the main Pogonios of the Greek territory.
It is possible to reach from Argyrokastro or Kakkavia through the Neck of Soucha even from the Customs in Drymades which operates under a specific regime and requires prior information.
The route, while worth the wealth of points it offers to visit in combination with the urban ensemble of traditional settlements and the excellent mountain landscape, requires a tall car due to the condition of the road. In some cases it also requires hiking and therefore becomes an interactive choice.
In order for the visitor to exhaust both the temples and the monasteries that are proposed in the specific route but also many others that are not mentioned but are scattered, it takes two or even three days. Proposed period would therefore be late spring, summer and early autumn.
For the night there is the possibility of small hostels but also safe places for setting up tents and mostly hosting families.
Important festivals in the area can be mentioned of the Brigadiers in Polytsani, the Assumption of the Virgin in Sopiki, the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Hosteva, the Nativity of the Virgin in Schoriades, Agios Nikolaos in Derani etc.
